We travel extensively in the major cities and rural areas of Morocco and have cemented long-term relationships with artisans who produce handicraft items of the highest quality. Our aim for Zelij Moroccan Interiors is to build a strong and loyal client base in Australia who admire and value traditional Moroccan handicrafts.

All products are imported directly from highly skilled artisans who work exclusively for Zelij Moroccan Interiors. Regular travel to Morocco ensures continued contact and support for these craftspeople who are part of the 'Zelij' family. Zelij Moroccan Interiors encourages traditional handmade methods of production in Morocco. The techniques are centuries old and involve painstaking handmade processes using quality materials such as wool, wrought iron, wood and clay.

The creation of the Zelij Moroccan Interiors concept showcases the uniqueness of Moroccan handicrafts in an informative and warm environment. The store has the feel of an ancient medieval marketplace. As you enter, your senses explode with the colour, music, light, texture and aroma of all that Morocco has to offer. Ceramic plates hang on the walls, Berber kilims line the concrete floors, and the Blue Gate of the old Fès fortress walls is re-created in the front of the store. The Moroccan concept includes Moroccan music, books on design, cooking and travel, as well as travel tips, mint tea and good conversation with all clients.

Zelij Moroccan Interiors ensures the quality of all products is endorsed by excellent service and warranty. Each handicraft item is personally selected during regular buying trips to Morocco. Each item is brought from Morocco to Australia with its own detailed history. Clients of Zelij Moroccan Interiors are encouraged to discover details about the craftspeople, methods of production and daily life as an artisan in Morocco. Zelij Moroccan Interiors is proud to have first-hand knowledge of Moroccan culture and artistic traditions and to ensure that the history of each item in the store is passed on to our clients.

All our clients are given a warm welcome when they enter the store. A glass of mint tea, decorating advice and a smile are all part of the 'Zelij' experience. All the Zelij Moroccan Interiors staff are well travelled and have extensive knowledge of Moroccan culture including arts and crafts.
